Google released the fifth version of the Google product review update on September 20 at around 4 am ET. This one is referred to as the product review update for September 2022. Several weeks ago, Google advised us to prepare for it. It was rare for this Google update to arrive so soon after the previous recent one, which was in July 2022.

The sixth Google update to the search ranking algorithm for product reviews is now available.  Its goal is to list the websites that are most relevant to product reviews and helpful to searchers.  The first update for product reviews was released on April 8, 2021, the second on December 1, 2021, the third on March 23, 2022, the fourth on July 27, 0222, and the fifth on September 20, 2022. The new one is referred to as the product review Google update for September 2022.

The September 2022 product review update from Google has now been fully implemented. According to Google, this update only applies to product reviews written in English.

It took six days to finish, starting on September 20 and ending on September 26.

Google Update Product Reviews 

The Google product review program strives to promote review material that is superior to and goes beyond most of the pre-written data you encounter online. In its search results rankings, Google has stated that it will favor these kinds of product reviews.

Google is not directly punishing lower-quality product reviews that have “thin content that simply summarizes a bunch of products.” However, it will undoubtedly feel like a penalty. If you produce such material and discover that your rankings have fallen as a result of other content being promoted above yours. Google says that, technically, there is no penalty for your content. Rather, it simply gives higher rankings to sites with more insightful review content.

Technically speaking, this Google upgrade should only have an effect on content that includes product reviews, not other forms of content.

These algorithmic changes are meant to reward high-quality product reviews (in the form of perceptive analysis and original research). According to Google, it will prioritize these product reviews in the order of search results.

In other words, if you experienced an impact, you should probably put more effort into improving the content of your product reviews. Discover a way to differentiate it from competitors by making it special.
